Based on a technology of construction by layers, the Sinterized Direct Metal Laser (DMLS by its abbreviations ) began its development in 1994 with the aim of securing a fast method of manufacture of metal pieces without needing use of long processes of strained, avoiding the inaccuracy of the modeled ones by means of traditional methods.

Since then it has been evolved in this type of processes until arriving at the highest quality and finished that we can obtain nowadays, securing perfect adjustments, exact forms without the necessity of expensive reviewed.

This system used with total guarantee by countries advanced in the industrialization processes (mainly Germany and the USA) produces anywhere in the world around 80,000 of prothesis dental ones per manufacturing unit, guaranteeing a substantial improvement in times, qualities and adjustments.

EOS GmbH Electro Optical Systems, BEGO Medical GmbH and BEGO Bremer Goldschlägerei Wilh. Herbst GmbH & Co. KG have signed a patent licence agreement under which EOS receives from both BEGO companies a worldwide licence for all patents relevant for laser-sintering. This especially pertains to the production of dental prostheses and/or dental auxiliaries using laser-sintering and includes, among others, EP 1021997 and US 7,084,370. EOS dental customers receive a sublicence to these patents for dental manuf- acturing.
